Great cowboy action load. But as with all straight walled cartridges that do not generate very much pressure, it is a bit dirty.

Great cowboy action load. Use magnum pistol primer with this load due to small amount of powder in large volume case. Somewhat sensitive to the ambient temperature. As with most straight walled cartridges that do not generate very much pressure, it is a bit dirty.

A more complete case fill percentage than other powders that I have tried which may account for more consistent ignition. A fairly accurate load depending on the gun.

Fun load to shoot from a Ruger Vaquero. Lots of smoke! Shoots about 1" low without adjustable sights. WARNING: Blackpowder grains are measured by VOLUME not WEIGHT. Use a manual Brass Measure and not a regular Powder Measure. Also be aware of static electricity around the reloading bench! Pyrodex "P" powder can be used as substitute.

Bullet is a 250gr Rainier copper plated TC. This load is accurate & excellent for indoor use as there is no exposed lead on the bullet & the Rainiers are economical to shoot. Velocity was measured from a 5 1/2" Ruger Vaquero.

This load is almost a perfect.45 Colt factory duplication load. The basic data is straignt from the Winchester manual. To man it will apear somewhat conservative, but in all the revolvers and leverguns I’ve tried it in, it has matched the factory ballistics perfectly. I’ve found this load to be very accurate and consistant when used with the Remington 250gr lead .45 Colt factory bullet, or the Lyman 454190 bullet cast from wheel wieghts.

This load shoots great in my Single action Army colts and in my Ruger bisley I have 3rd generation colts And this load is safe in these I use Lyman # 454190 May want to check before you shoot this load in and older vintage Colt I wouldnt shoot anything but black powder in A first generation peacemaker And have it checked out by A good smith before that.

Velocity average of 5 shots over Oehler 23C chronograph. Ruger Blackhawk, 4.75-inch barrel. Very pleasant to shoot, yet feels like a grownup load. This load was safe in my gun. The data is offered for information only - try it at your own risk.

Velocity average of 5 shots over Oehler 23C chronograph. This load was safe in my Ruger Blackhawk, 7.5-inch barrel. I have shot it in my Cimarron SAA Artillery replica (5.5-inch barrel) and it has been safe, with no excess pressure signs on primer or case (but is a stout load none the less and leaves lead in the barrel). This data is for information only. I worked it up carefully in the gun listed. Use it at your own risk.

Trueshot cast bullets(SWC) are the closet I’ve come to the keith bullet, Comercila wise. I shot the above load out of a Ruger Redhawk that wears a 5 and 1/2 inch barrel and its been very picky in what it liked. I started at 16 gr. over a good bag rest , the six groups I did shoot , opened and closed like a bellows. The 18gr group at 25 yards and a rather heavy trigger prevented any group better than 2 inches. I stopped at 18.5 grs. its maybe a prudent choice , for my Redhawk wouldn’t hit the side a barn at 20-22 grains, and those loads , trust me are very healthy pressure wise...Well Good shootin Ya’ll....Don Hou.TX

Cases are cut down to the same length as a 44 Special and OAL is also the same as a 44 Special with a similer wieght bullet. I shoot this in my Vaquero. If the cases are not cut down, I use 11.0 gr. No signs of excess pressure, and velocities are very consistant.
