| The problem is the link from the page that shows your image in the gallery is not the link directly to the image.
http://www.handloads.com/gallery/image.asp?Cat=Handguns&userid=&ID=201 in your example.
This shows the image along with the link back to the gallery and the logo at the top of the page. What you need to do to have just the picture show, here or in another forum, or website is to right click the picture, select properties and get the actual path to the image, or just replace image with file in the path you see in the address bar.
So in your example using: http://www.handloads.com/gallery/file.asp?Cat=Handguns&userid=&ID=201
will display the picture you want.

| Hehe, you think that's particular. Have you ever used a Unix/Linux machine? file.asp, File.asp, file.Asp etc are all different files since the OS is case sensitive.
I see it's working now so I wasn't completely off base in where the issue was. |

| Ok, I've got a question - mainly for those who've uploaded files to the gallery (thanks!). What do you think about having the main gallery page http://www.handloads.com/gallery also display the username of the person who uploaded the picture? So it would show the description, file size and username. I think people might be interested to know who uploaded which picture, especially if they really like what someone has uploaded - they will likely want to see what else that person has uploaded. However, some people may not want their username displayed with the photo.
So, thats the question. Would you like to see it done that way, or would you rather have the page remain as is? |

| Thanks Terry, I think I'll make that change soon.
I made one other change tonight. Now instead of a 5 meg / day bandwidth limit there is a 28 meg / week limit. It's a little less overall, but people should be a lot less likely to hit the limit now (I think).

| John, it seems like your 28meg a week limit is quite generous. I posted a picture on several forums and I know there was a lot of traffic. I still do not think I hit the limit. |

| The weekly limit has been hit only one time so far, but I don't know by who since I don't monitor the useage that closely. Switching from daily to weekly seems to have worked. The idea was that someone would post a picture and it would get hit hard the day it was posted and max out that persons bandwith usage for the day and start showing the "Exceeded Bandwidth" image instead, then it would hardly get hit after that. By counting usage per week instead of per day the total bandwidth isn't any higher but you're much less likely to hit the cap and have people not be able to see your pictures. |
